Introduction
												The Barents 
												Cross Border University 
												development (BCBU+) project is 
												based on the cooperation among 
												partner universities involved in 
												the Barents Cross Border 
												University network (BCBU).
												 
												The project 
												contributes to establishment of 
												higher education in the Barents 
												region by developing jointly 
												international multidisciplinary 
												Master's programs of BCBU in the 
												fields of comparative social 
												work, information systems, 
												circumpolar health and wellbeing 
												and environmental engineering. 
												The two-year study programs 
												are in the central fields of the 
												EU Northern Dimension priorities 
												and follow the principles of the 
												Bologna process.

												First joint 
												Summer School 2012 
												“Multidisciplinary Dialogue” 
												 
												This Summer School, arranged on 
												27.-31.8.2012 in Rovaniemi, is the first 
												joint effort of the Barents 
												Cross Border University (BCBU) 
												and Finnish-Russian Cross Border 
												University (CBU).  
  The aim is to 
												offer a context for truly 
												multidisciplinary discussions 
												and dialogue not only between 
												students and teachers of the 
												Master's programs, developed and 
												run by these two networks, but 
												also other participants 
												interested in studying 
												Environment, Technology and 
												Wellbeing and their interfaces 
												and -action. This event is one 
												of the KolarcticENPI BCBU+

												Funding for 
												development of Barents Cross 
												Border University  
												Barents Cross Border University 
												development project (BCBU+) is 
												funded by the Kolarctic ENPI CBC 
												program for years 2011 – 2013. 
												The project started on 19.4.2011 
												and it will last till 18.4.2013. 
												The project falls within the 
												first priority of the ENPI 
												Kolarctic CBC program that 
												deals with Economic and Social 
												development. Lead of the project 
												is University of Lapland.
